Sayyiduna ‘Ubadah ibn Samit Radiyallahu Anhum reports that Rasulullah Sallalahu Allayhi Wassallam would recite the following Du’a when Ramadhan drew near:
اَللّٰهُمَّ سَلّمْنِيْ لِرَمَضانَ وَسَلّمْ رَمَضانَ لِيْ وسَلّمْهُ لِيْ مُتَقَبَّلا
رواه الطبراني فِي الدعاء والديلمي ، وسنده حسن – كنز العمال, ج8, ص584
Allahumma Sallimni li Ramadhan. wa sallim Ramadhana li wa sallimhu li mutaqabbala
(Kitabu Du’a-Tabrani 912-913, Hayatus Sahabah, Vol.3, Pg.182)
O Allah! Safeguard me for the Month of Ramadhaan (by making me see the Month of Ramadhaan healthy and fit so that I can take maximum benefit from it), and safeguard the Month of Ramadhaan for me (by making the conditions in it such that I can take maximum benefit from it) and accept it from me.
