Method of Reciting Durud Ibrahim

Question:

In Salawat, is it correct to say Innaka Hamidum Majeed or Innaka Hamidun Majeed (Hamidum or Hamidun)?

Answer:

As-salāmu ‘Alaykum Wa-rahmatullāhi Wa-barakātuh.

In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

  1. The correct method of reciting Durood Ibraheem is as follows;

Allahumma Salli ala Muhammadin wa ala aali Muhammadin kamaa sallayta ala Ibrahim wa ala aali Ibrahim, wa baarik ala Muhammadin wa ala aali Muhammadin kamaa baarakta ala Ibrahim wa ala aali Ibrahim innaka hameedun majeed.[1]

O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim; and Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; indeed, You are praiseworthy and glorious.

According to the laws of Tajweed, if after a (نْ) Noon Saakin or or (Tanween), from amongst the letters of Idghaam يرملون , any of the letters of يومن , ي و م ن appear, then the Noon Saakin or Tanween will be incorporated into ي و م ن and it will be read with Gunnah.[2]

Hereunder are few examples of this law;

And Allah Ta‘ala knows best
