Fasting Whilst Travelling

Country: United Kingdom

In Ramadan i travelled after Fajar to London (approx *** miles from my home), stayed in London for one night and returned home after Isha the next day. I did not fast for both days and intend to now do qada for both days missed. Do i class as a traveller? And Is what I am doing correct? As I have been told that because I travelled after Fajar and missed both fasts I have to now keep 30 fasts for each day.

In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You do not have to keep 30 fasts for each day. However, since you were present in your hometown for Suḥūr (sehri) on the first day, you were supposed to start your fast. If the fast became difficult, then you should have broken your fast after embarking on your journey. It was permissible for you to miss the second fast as you were a Musāfir (traveller). [1]
