Correct Islamic Spelling for the Name “Isak”

Question:

We Inshallah intend to name our son Ishaq when he is born.

What is your opinion of this name?
We are a little confused about the spelling of this name in Latin alphabet.
Islamicly this name is spelled as Ishaq. In UK it is spelled as Isaac. In our country it is spelled as Isak. We wish to spell this name as Isak, because we are living in Denmark.

What is the islamic opinion on the preferred spelling of this name?

In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Ishāq was the name of a Prophet. He was the son of Sayiduna Ibrahim Allayhi Salaam. He was a glad tiding to his father from the side of Allah Ta‘ala, due to him being born after a very long time.

We should inculcate and practise the correct Islamic values in every aspect of our life, even when keeping the names of our children.

The correct pronunciation and spelling of the name Ishāq is as follows:
اسحاق – Ishāq[1]
Transliteration is as Ishāq.

Ishāq means: Glad tidings[2]

We make Dua to Allah Ta‘ala that he grants you a healthy son, and grants your son the Qualities of Nabi Ishaq Alayihis Salaam. Aameen
