Would you kindly inform me how to work out a shariah will. I know that the wife gets 1/8, husband 1/4, sons 2 shares and daughters 1 share but unsure how to work it out, i.e., from the whole amount or ? Please see questions below:
1) How would one work out £100,000.00 if there is a wife, 5 sons and 2 daughters, how much would they get each?
2) How would one work out £350,000.00 if there is a wife, 6 sons and 1 daughter, how much would they get each?

Answer:
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
In the first scenario, the inheritance would be distributed as follows:
1) Wife: £12,500
Sons:£14,583.33 Each
Daughters: £7291.67 Each
In the second scenario, the inheritance would be distributed as follows:
2) Wife: £43,750
Sons: £47,115 Each
Daughters: £23,557.70
