Breaking Fast due to Illness

What is the ruling for a person who became ill whilst in the state of fasting, Is it permissible for him to break the fast?

In the name of Allāh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-raḥmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If a person is sure that if he would not break the fast his illness would be aggravated, hence it will be permissible for him to break the fast. He would only have to make Qada and not give Kaffarah.[1]
